Hillsborough Community College Student Health Plan Waiver

Student Certification
International Students will not be permitted to register or to continue enrollment without demonstrating that he or she has health insurance while attending Hillsborough Community College. International Students must purchase the HCC International Student Health Insurance program, or they can request a waiver if they have an alternative health insurance plan that meets the school criteria.
Submitting a waiver request :
- You will need your HCC student ID number and your HCC email address to register your account.
- Your waiver request must be completed in its entirety. You will be asked to enter detailed information about your current insurance policy, so have the following available :
- Insurance company name, policy/group number, insurance company contact information
- Policy holder’s name
- Policy's full Summary of Benefits in English
- A copy of the front and back of your ID card
- You may not make changes or re-enter the waiver once it is submitted.
- The insurance policy information you are providing will be reviewed for approval upon submission of this waiver request. Please allow 5 days for processing and for notification to the University for billing update.
Do not proceed if you have an HMO or EPO plan. Plans from Oscar, AM Better and international travel plans will not be accepted.
Please note that medical coverage is mandatory during the entire time you will be a student at Hillsborough Community College, even if you are not in the U.S. during breaks and the summer semester.
